Wine EnthusiastThis is a new wine from Lapostolle, bearing a nose that's intense and compact, with mineral and dark fruit aromas. It feels rich and muscular but not heavy, with berry, licorice, buttery oak and vanilla flavors. The finish is minty and chocolaty tasting. Carmenère, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah make up the blend.

Wine AdvocateThe 2010 Canto de Apalta is a blend of 36% Carmenere, 31% Merlot, 18% Cabernet Sauvignon and 15% Syrah aged in French oak for 16 months. It offers clean, fresh, uncomplicated brambly red fruit infused with peppermint on the nose. The palate is medium-bodied with coarse tannins and a rather sharp, slightly abrasive finish. Drink now.
