The grapes are selected from a 42-hectare plantation on the Herdade Monte da Ribeira, a farm located in the coolest and most mountainous sub-zone of the Alentejo region. Alentejo is a large growing region which takes up almost the entire southern third of the Portugal. The climate here is Continental-Mediterranean, marked by low rainfall, semi-arid growing conditions and high daytime temperatures.
