The base 2019 Châteauneuf Du Pape from Paul Autard checks in as 70% Grenache, 20% Syrah, and 10% Mourvèdre that was brought up in 50% new French oak. Made in a rich, well-oaked, yet pure and balanced style, it has lots of ripe black raspberry and blackberry fruits, hints of vanilla and spice, medium to full body, a round, lush texture, and ripe yet present tannins. This pleasure-bent beauty will benefit from a year or two in bottle and shine for 10-12 years.
