Pepper Bridge Cabernet Sauvignon 2010
|Appellation||Walla Walla Valley|
Wine AdvocateSimilarly concentrated, yet showing slightly more integration of its fruit and acidity, the 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon (83% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Merlot, 4% Cabernet Franc, 4% Malbec and a splash of Petit Verdot) comes from estate vineyards and spent 18 months in 41% new French oak. It's a deep, voluptuous effort that possesses notions of plum sauce, currant, licorice and liquid smoke as well as a full-bodied, decadent and yet beautifully pure, fresh texture on the palate. As with the Merlot, this is a big wine that isn't holding much back; however, it's a superb drink that will impress for 7-8+ years. Drink now-2021.
Wine EnthusiastAll five Bordeaux grapes are blended in this aromatic wine sourced from the Seven Hills and Pepper Bridge vineyards. In the mouth it is compact with a dense verticality, opening with raspberry and moving on into cassis fruit. Tight and young, compact and nicely structured, this should be cellared through 2022 to 2024.
