Château Croizet Bages Pauillac 2009
|Brand||Château Croizet Bages|
Wine Enthusiast91-93 Barrel sample. A wine that feels rather lean, severe almost. It has dark tannins, spice, plum skins, but also intense new wood.
Wine AdvocateTasted at Château Rauzan-Gassies. The 2009 Croizet Bages, a blend of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Franc, has a more cohesive bouquet compared to the 2008: blackberry, boysenberry, a touch of graphite and autumn leaves. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin, nicely judged acidity, a little rustic perhaps but here, there is more matière on the finish. This is certainly the best Croizet-Bages in recent years. Tasted June 2015.
Wine SpectatorDull, muddled fruit is laced with a firm, wet cement note, with a drying finish. Tasted four times, with consistent notes. 7,915 cases made.
