Penner-Ash Willamette Valley Pinot Noir 2014
Wine AdvocateThe 2014 Willamette Valley Pinot Noir, which is due to be released in June/July this year, has a refined bouquet with perfumed red cherry and wild strawberry scents; there is a hint of vanilla pod from the new oak, although there is actually slightly less new wood than the other bottlings at 20-25%. The palate is medium-bodied with sweet ripe tannin, boysenberry and raspberry fruit, a fine line of acidity and a precise finish. This is a lovely 2014 Pinot Noir.
Wine SpectatorFirm and focused, with juicy blackberry and cherry fruit. Peppery tannins are sprinkled through the open-weave, deftly wrought finish. Best from 2018 through 2022. 6,850 cases made.
Wine EnthusiastThe winery releases an extensive lineup of single vineyard Pinots; here is the mix of leftover barrels. Purple fruits, earth, slightly green tannins and a hint of toast come into play.
