Domaine Andre Bonhomme Viré Clessé 2015
Evesham Wood Pinot Noir 2014Although the Willamette Valley bottling is our least expensive and largest production bottling we put just as much of ourselves into it as our top cuvées. Vineyards such as Eola Springs, Illahe and Mahonia who Evesham Wood has been working with for decades make up the bulk of the blend and those grapes are fermented in small lots and punched down twice a day. Very forward with plum, dark cherry, red cherry with a slightly sweet smokiness reminiscent of a toasted marshmallow. It will be fun to watch this wine evolve over the next five years.
Castiglion del Bosco Brunello di Montalcino 2012Complexity, superb structure, and an inviting, mouthfilling palate are the hallmarks of this Sangiovese grown in the 42-hectare Capanna vineyard facing towards the Mediterranean sea. A garnet-flecked ruby red, it releases generous, emphatic fragrances classic to Sangiovese, developing a near-endless progression notable for its beautiful balance.
Fattoria di Magliano Vermentino della Maremma Pagliatura 2016The name Pagliatura, meaning "hay," references the golden color of the wine. White peach, apple, and pear aromas abound, while floral notes further enhance the bouquet. A hint of mint adds an interesting component to the flavor profile. Vinified in stainless steel to allow maximum fruit expression, the wine is refined on the fine lees for 3 months. Although bottle aged for an additional 6 months, this wine remains fresh. A savory wine to enjoy with a meal.
Gramona Gessami 2016Appearance: Pale green with brilliant highlights. Nose: Great aromatic intensity reminiscent of a walk in the springtime. It evokes the cool, fresh air, a bunch of white flowers, jasmine, and orange blossom. Aromas of chamomile tea and linden infusions. Apricots, peaches, a citrus breeze. All bound up in a very fragrant, fresh halo. Palate: Pleasant on entry, light bodied and silky on the palate. Fantastic freshness on the finish. The balance of its fruity and floral character is such that it shifts between delicate softness and structure, smoothness and freshness. Food Pairings: Appetizers, salads, and grilled vegetables. All kinds of fish or seafood. Very good with Japanese food. Rice, paellas.
Altos las Hormigas Malbec 2015The joyful and fresh expression of Mendoza is in this Malbec. Red fruits, cherries and a soft note of plums that have just been picked up from the tree. This wine is all about freshness. The palate is supple and juicy, inviting to enjoy glass after glass. Soft but structured tannins and a pleasant finish. Three words can describe this Malbec perfectly: freshness, joy and vitality. Can be paired with light fare or heavier dishes, but also can be enjoyed alone.
Fattoria Petrolo Toscana Torrione 2013Petrolo's "chateau", wine made from the different grapes varietals on the estate. The grapes proportion is the same as the vineyards we have. A perfect example of a balanced, sharp and deep red. A wine that better than others talks of the real identity of our area. Torrione is made mainly from pure Sangiovese grapes, both those that come from historic vines of the 70s and ones more recently planted with high density. The yield per plant is notably restricted (max 2.5 lbs per vine plant), allowing a concentration of all the noble components of the grape, fundamental for the full-bodied character of this wine. The maceration on the skins lasts for 14 days. Afterwards, the malolactic fermentation takes place, partly in French barrels of 225 liters, partly in 40 Hl oak barrels, and partly in cement vats. The wine then is aged in French oak barriques, one third new, for approximately 15 months.
Continuum Proprietary Red 2012Extreme care and attention to detail in both vineyard and cellar produced a fabulous 2012 Continuum, 100% grown at our estate high above Oakville. The 2012 has a dense purple robe, red highlights and a vibrant violet rim. A sumptuous yet brilliantly balanced wine, the 2012 Continuum is flush with black cherry and mulberry fruit and complex flavors of graphite and African coffee. Full bodied and opulent, the 2012 is polished, supple and harmonious with a long and complex finish and a vibrant core of minerality. While you will find it deliciously enjoyable today, with patience, you can savor its evolution for decades to come. For the fullest sensory experience we encourage decanting Continuum, to allow the wine to breathe before serving. Decanting awakens the wine's more purely fragrant expression and enhances the suppleness of the palate.
