Chateau Cos Labory St. Estephe 2010
|Brand||Chateau Cos Labory|
Wine EnthusiastThis wine seems like it's all structure at this stage, firmly tannic and dry. Very solid and chunky, it is hiding its potentially rich fruit, which will show once the intense tannins soften, but the wine will likely always be severe.
Wine Spectator A very grippy style, with a prominent charcoal spine gripping the plum, currant and blackberry fruit notes before slowly yielding on the finish, where a singed iron accent waits. Displays depth, but the structure remains astringent overall. Best from 2015 through 2022. 7,500 cases made.
Wine AdvocateNarrowly constructed for a 2010, this dense ruby/purple-tinged offering displays attractive mineral, blueberry and red currant notes as well as an elegant, solid style, but it is essentially superficial with significant tannins for the amount of depth. Cellar it for 5-6 years and keep your fingers crossed over the following 10-12 years.
