Ceretto's entry-level 2016 Barbaresco has all of the energy and vibrancy it showed as a barrel sample. The 2016 is not big or obvious, instead it offers superb persistence and striking balance. Sweet red cherry, mint, pine, licorice and candied orange peel all grace this exquisite entry-level Barbaresco from Ceretto. The straight Barbaresco is a blend of approximately 65% Bernardot and 35% Asili from younger vines and lower, less well-exposed parcels.

Dark-skinned fruit, truffle, fragrant blue flower and wild herb aromas are front and center. The structured palate delivers succulent Marasca cherry, crushed raspberry, star anise and a hint of tobacco alongside the warmth of evident alcohol.
