Luigi Bosca Malbec D.O.C. 2014
|Appellation||Lujan de Cuyo|
Wine AdvocateThe 2014 Malbec D O C, one of the few Controlled Appellation wines (D.O.C.) from Lujan de Cuyo, is pure Malbec aged for 14 month in new French oak barrels. But, the nose is not about the barrel but about the place and its different soils, with ripe fruit without excess and a pinch of spices. The palate is polished and soft, approachable and tasty. Impressive quality for the 136,000 bottles they produce.
Wine SpectatorA refined red, with vibrant cherry, plum and raspberry flavors, backed by fresh acidity. Mineral, spice and white pepper details show on the finish. Drink now through 2019. 5,000 cases imported.
Wine EnthusiastRustic, gritty berry aromas come with notes of plastic, oak grain and grass. This is raw, chewy and tannic in feel, with roasted, spicy berry flavors that run low on ripeness. A salt-and-pepper finish includes herbal berry flavors and sticky tannins.
