Condado de Haza Ribera del Duero 2018
|Region||Spain, Ribera del Duero|
|Brand||Condado de Haza|
Clean and brilliant with an attractive purple hue and a violet rim. Black fruit aromas such as blackberries and blackcurrants come to the fore. Subtle floral notes, such as violets, come through with hints of liquorice, a characteristic trait of the Tempranillo grape. Also roasted coffee-bean notes emerge, together with touches of vanilla brought by the wine's ageing in barrel. A fresh, fruity and full entry on the palate with well-integrated acidity. Length of flavour is medium to long, with a creamy, sweet sensation coming from the wine's ageing in oak. Ideal for accompanying all kinds of meat, grilled meats, roast lamb, suckling pig, casseroles and Ideal with roast lamb, lamb chops, oxtail, sucking pig and mature cheese.
Opaque ruby. Potent, smoke-accented aromas of dark fruit preserves, espresso, licorice and vanilla show good focus and spicy lift. Sappy, penetrating and well-concentrated, offering juicy blackberry, bitter cherry and succulent herb flavors and a suggestion of spicecake. Seamless, sweet and persistent on the subtly tannic finish, leaving notes of mocha and candied flowers behind.
This generous red is bound by plush tannins that encase black cherry reduction, floral, loamy earth and mulled red plum flavors. Offers good density, with details of mineral, toast and espresso lining up along the finish. Drink now through 2028. 3,500 cases imported.
