Noval's noble 40 Year Old Tawny shows more and more complex flavors and concentration. Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz, Touriga Francesca and Tinta Barroca are the major grape varieties. All grapes were estate grown, and trodden by foot and fermented in the lagares at Quinta do Noval. The wines were aged until bottling in oak barrels of 640 liters. This light amber wine expresses an extremely rich and complex nutty bouquet, reminiscent of mint and almonds. Full bodied, sweet and rich in taste, it has an attractive nuttiness and a remarkable lingering finish despite its age.
