La Poderina Brunello di Montalcino 2013
|Region||Italy, Tuscany, Brunello di Montalcino|
"A more modern style with some fresher, spicy oak, note of spiced creamy and tarry nuances and plenty of red and dark-cherry flavors. Holds long and fresh. The concentration is good. Try from 2022."
Enticing aromas of iris, black-skinned berry and a whiff of new leather pave the way. The full-bodied, balanced palate offers juicy black cherry, tobacco, white pepper and licorice alongside polished fine-grained tannins. Drink 2022-2031.
Dark ruby-red. Strong notes of aromatic herbs, flint and licorice complicate red cherry and berry aromas and flavors. Very long, fresh and clean, offering serious but polished tannins, this classic Brunello ought to age and develop nicely.
Cherry, milk chocolate, vanilla, leather and earth flavors hold court in this firmly wrought red. Somewhat one-dimensional, with moderate length. Best from 2020 through 2030. 5,000 cases made.
